Plea for Tees!

Yesterday afternoon, the weather was scorching. The sun baked rocks were vibrating heat waves, and I had the windows down as far as they would go. I could feel the heat coming through the floorboards, and the wind was blowin the hair back. I had Led Zeppelin 4 cranking through the speakers, and when the speed limit hit sixty five, I had to turn it up loud to hear it over the wind… That thumping, driving beat of ‘Four Sticks’ came on, and had me bobbing my head, thumping my hand on the door, and grinning like a damn fool.

I pulled into the fast line, hit the accelerator, and felt very, very cool. For amount 20 seconds anyway… That was the epitome of the summertime moment right there for me though. Took me back to the first time I heard Led Zeppelin cranking through a pair of speakers in a car I was actually driving all by myself, and the whole experience had me wishing I was on my way to see Zeppelin play an outdoor show on a hot summer night. Back at home I went searching through our archives, and the best I could find was this tshirt from some 1970s era show.

Not bad, captures some of the psychedelic feel and glamor of what I imagine a Zep show was… but made me want to see more. So, my plea. Celebrate the summertime, take a snapshot of your treasured, favorite summertime Led Zeppelin concert shirt (or whenever) and submit it for us all to enjoy. Viva Led Zeppelin!
