Fifty years sense the music died, a t-shirt of remembrance

February 2nd 2009 marked the 50th anniversery of the death of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and J.P. "The Big Booper" Richardson in a plane crash following their show at The Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, IA. Truly a tragic event in the annals of music history; their deaths still resonate today in the hearts of their fans and the words of Don McLean's song "American Pie".

Though Buddy Holly's music career was short, his influence on popular music could hardly have been greater. That's why Monday, February 2nd 1959 will always be remembered as "The day the music died".
