This would have been the highlight of my summer, if I we're lucky enough to live near one of the 22 minor league ballparks to host Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp. The tour, dubbed Summerfest, kicks off on July 1st and runs for 22 stops thru August 15th traveling from the east coast to the west. This will actually be the second time this trio has teamed up to play ballparks across the nation.
Now, this is very important information for analybody who is considering going to one of the "games". Go to BobDylan.com, find your date and see if there is a presale date and password set. Not only does this allow you to get your tickets early but fans who get their tickets thru the pre-sale will be allowed into the stadiums 30 minutes early to claim their seats. This is very important sense all of the shows are general admission early.
Now the sad news, for me, I reside in Colorado where their doesn't seem to be much minor league ball, at least not enough to justify a stop on the tour. I would love to see what the shirts from this tour looks like so anybody picking one up please submit it to the archive.
Get there early, I heard all three were going to be doing a homerun derby to see who plays last.
