Ladies, gentlemen and hippies it's that time again. That's right, its Bonnaroo time. Just about now, masses of fans are doing their final preparations for the epic trip that is Bonnaroo. The masses of people, the nearly never ending car ride and of course, the traffic; oh lord the traffic. Oh ya, there also the music. Hours and hours of glorious music!
As a veteran of the first 3 Bonnaroos its been interesting to watch the festival change over the years. Back in the day it was truly a hippyfest, just look at the lineup the first year and second years. Back then, Widespread Panic was our Bruce Springsteen, Trey Anastasio was our poor man's excuse for Phish, James Brown was our Beastie Boys and Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals was our Ben Harper and Relentless7.
Ok so maybe things don't change that much, but still Bonnaroo has become a different place. One things for sure, the bands have gotten bigger and more varied over time and the buzz around the festival has grown much louder. What was originally X bands has grown to X.
I hope to make my return to Bonnaroo next year with an official Band Shirt Archive presence. In the meantime, be on the lookout for great shirt and snap a picture for us here at BSA.
Check back here after the festival for Bonnaroo shirts available on eBay. Last year there were lots of shirts available after the festival.
