Get To Know Todd Snider, International Peace Queer
Posted: 2009-06-17 7:45am in Band Review and Todd Snider Shirts
I discovered Todd Snider listening to World Cafe right after the release of his album East Nashville Skyline and I've been a fan ever sense. I've never been a big fan of the Country music genre but I am an admitted fan of songs with witty lyrics and a story to tell. I don't think I'm alone either, I've been to a few of his shows and the crowd is incredibly diverse; you'll find everybody from the typical country music fans to spiky purple haired punks. A quick-witted folk rocker by nature, Todd's songs cover a wide range of topics. From "America's Favorite Past Time", a song about Doc Ellis throwing a no-hitter on LSD, to "Iron Mike's Main Man's Last Request", a fictional account of being Mike Tyson's best buddy; Todd's songs are bound to make you think, laugh and sing along. No matter what your typical music interest is, you would be well served to check out one of America's best singer songwriters. Here's where you can start, check out his MySpace page to see a video of "America's Favorite Past Time" as well as a few other songs from his new album. Also, ToddSnider.net has a music player at the bottom of the page that seems to cover most of his career. If you really want a good laugh, check out "Beer Run", All you need is a ten and a fiver, a car and a key and a sober driver. 0 Comments
