Frank Zappa has always been an artist that I've admired as much for his mind as for his music. My first exposure to Zappa came from a grainy video of one of his now infamous CNN Crossfire appearances. It was only later on that I began to explore his music legacy. I was actually inspired to learn more about Frank Zappa's music after hearing Widespread Panic cover Joe's Garage at a concert once. If you've never heard it, its a fun cover of the song.
Because my admiration of Frank Zappa went from his words to his music this is clearly one of my favorite vintage Frank Zappa t-shirts. Its a simple shirt, with only a Zappa quote on the front. The quote reads:
"Information is not knowledge.
Knowledge is not wisdom.
Wisdom is not truth.
Truth is not beauty.
Beauty is not love.
Love is not music.
Music is the best.
-- Frank Zappa"
This is a shirt I would presonally love to add to my collection. The shirt was apparently sold on his 1981 tour. Nearly 30 years old and a piece of musicly history; take a closer look at the shirt here.
